Head of Mental Health and Wellbeing

Gerard Beven joins HSE Global as Head of Mental Health & Wellbeing and is responsible for the growth and development of strategic workplace wellbeing programs for HSE Global’s clients. Gerard has over 20 years’ experience in the workplace wellbeing sector and prior to joining HSE Global was Head of Customer Care at one of Australia’s leading EAP service providers for 10 years, supporting over 800 organisations with their mental health programs. He has actively managed key accounts of some of Australia’s (and the globe’s) leading organisations including: • PwC • EY • KPMG • Medibank • Ventia • Suncorp • Downer Group • Metro Trains Melbourne • Tabcorp • IAG • QBE • Allianz. Most recently Gerard has supported PwC through their tax leak scandal, Medibank through their well-publicised cybersecurity breach and EY through their cultural review following the tragic death of one of their employees in the workplace. Gerard has consulted with other organisations on their critical incident response framework, support options for staff who are exposed to potentially traumatic events and peer support program development. Gerard has worked for small-medium sized privately owned businesses, ASX-listed organisations and small start-up wellbeing service providers and brings a wealth of experience in leading teams, driving positive business development activities, and delivering exceptional account management services. His experience extends globally having managed wellbeing programs for organisations throughout New Zealand, Asia, Europe and the US. Originally from Hobart (Tasmania), Gerard resides in Melbourne with his wife and three young girls (and male black Labrador). He enjoys keeping fit and active, watching movies and following all types of sport.
